When Ryan and I bought our home, I could envision the transformation. Over the last several years, we’ve worked really hard to make that vision a reality. Although we are nowhere near completing our home, we have made some serious progress. I hope to share some of that progress with you soon, but today, I want to focus on what is next.
Every January, I start making lists of all of the things I’d like to get done in our home. I wish I could say I always complete every task, but that would be a lie. Time, life, and finances get in the way of progress from time to time. I thought I’d share my 2017 list with you all.
2017 Home Remodeling
- Install Subway Tile Backsplash in Laundry Room
- Complete Trim in Laundry Room
- Finish Painting Staircase
- Complete Ryan’s Office
- Widen Master Closet Door & Install Elfa
- Refresh Landscaping (I think the drought killed some stuff)
- Convert Garage to Den & Cat Room
The last item on my list is a big one, and I’m really excited about it. Before I explain this project, I have to tell you a secret. I’m a crazy cat lady, and I can’t say ‘no’ to cuteness! Back to the project at hand. We knew when we bought our home, it wasn’t big enough. We then put together a plan to convert our garage into living a space and to later build a new garage.
The garage will include my husband’s office, a large den, and a bedroom for our cats (aka ‘The Cat Room’). I can’t show you what is in my head, but I can show you some pictures from Pinterest that inspire me.
Ryan’s office & den are going to be really fun spaces with lots of color. I really want his love for Snoopy to shine through. I can’t wait to share this project with you as we complete each phase. Stay tuned.
