I had hoped to provide an update weeks ago, pictures & all. For those of you that have worked with a contractor before, you know that it never goes as planned. That was most certainly the case again. Long story short, the rooms came together slower than anticipated. Now it’s flooring and finishing work for Ryan and I over the next several weekends.
Since I don’t have many photos to share yet, I thought I’d share some design ideas for the den. The den will reflect Ryan’s love of Snoopy, and it will feature fun pops of color. We’ve actually started hanging some of his artwork, see below.
The purpose of this room is hanging out and displaying Ryan’s Peanuts Collection. It will include a sofa, chairs, shelving, and hopefully a nook for reading.
I chose Benjamin Moore’s Wickham Gray for this space. We’ve actually used it elsewhere in the house, and it’s a great neutral. The color scheme will be primarily gray and yellow with pops of other primary colors. Below are some of the furniture pieces for this space.
I’ve also found a yellow metal coffee table that I’d like to get for this space. Accessories will include all of Ryan’s collectibles. I also want to build a shiplap display board for some of his favorite Peanuts pictures, postcards, stickers, etc. I have to agree with Joanna Gaines, every room could use shiplap!
This is going to be a really fun room to decorate and hang out in. I can’t wait for Friday night movies with popcorn & treats! I hope to have an update with pictures soon.
